Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions

We’re delighted to announce a methane-reduction program opportunity for producers in Idaho.

Glanbia, in partnership with Newtrient, McDonalds and Schreiber, has been awarded a $3.125 million dollar grant through the 2023 U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).

We are inviting applications for this multi-year program which will provide funding for approximately 10 producers to receive:

  • Free technical assistance and decision support to assist producers in implementing conservation practices. This assistance may include guidance on selecting and installing methane reduction technologies, optimizing herd management practices, and other strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Up to 75% of implementation cost reimbursement on manure management and feed additive conservation practices
  • Up to 3 Years of outcome-based Payments for resulting verified GHG Reductions

The attached handout outlines the program details and eligibility requirements and the FAQ’s provide more detailed guidance.

If you are interested in applying for funding, please complete THIS FORM by March 17th 2025.

While the first round of the program can only fund approximately 10 producers, we encourage all interested producers to apply to help us determine the interest levels for future funding applications.

Looking forward to collaborating with Idaho producers on this exciting program. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions at this time.
